- Bicycle from the Galloping Goose Trail
From: BC Ferries at Swartz Bay, or the Anacortes Ferries at Sidney, or the Victoria International Airport)
- Hwy 17 south to Mackenzie - Hwy 1 cut-off
- turn right (west) on Mackenzie and go 3 blocks to Hwy 1
- at Hwy 1 turn right (north)
- 2 miles later take the Colwood / View Royal exit #10 which is Hwy 14 (aka Sooke Rd or Old Island Hwy), then ... Part 2
From: driving south on Vancouver Island from Nanaimo
- follow Hwy 1 south towards Victoria and take the Colwood / View Royal exit #11, then turn right onto Hwy 14 at the Six Mile Pub (aka Sooke Rd or Old Island Hwy), then ... to Part 2
From: downtown Victoria including the Seattle & Port Angeles Ferries
- drive north on Douglas Street (Victoria's main street) until it turns into Hwy 1
- follow Hwy 1 to the Colwood / View Royal exit #10 which is Hwy 14 (aka Sooke Rd or Old Island Hwy), then ... to Part 2
- turn left at the 4th traffic light on to Ocean Blvd. (light at Wendy's)
- turn left again on to the first road to the left which is the continuation of Ocean Blvd
- continue for about 5 minutes through the forest and then alongside the ocean to Lagoon Rd.
- turn right on to Lagoon Rd. and up the hill to the tree line
- turn right on to Heatherbell
- the 2nd street down the hill is Portsmouth Drive - turn right - go to the end of the street and the last house on the water side (left) is 206 Portsmouth
