Fishing in Victoria BC - Salmon, Chinook, Sockeye, Coho

BOOK DIRECT - Best Price

Chinook SalmonThe West Coast of Vancouver Island provides some of the best Salmon fishing in the world.  There are a large variety of species to pursue and we also have the longest fishing season of anywhere in British Columbia. This is due primarily to the early run of huge Chinook Salmon that pass through the area in early May, and the fishing remains strong until late November when the last of the big Northern Coho come through. The early Chinooks reach weights of 40 to 60 pounds, and the summer runs, which also reach the 50 pound mark stay in the area until late September.

Coho SalmonBy early August the Coho appear, first as small 3 to 5 pounders, and reaching 20+ pounds by October. These fish provide outstanding sport fishing with tremendous strength and incredible aerobatics!

As well as exceptional Salmon fishing, the West Coast also provides great Halibut, Lingcod, and Red Snapper fishing. Halibut up to 150 pounds are caught yearly in our local waters, and provide hour-long, arm-wrenching contests! The peak season for these monsters starts in early February and stays consistent throughout the Summer. There is lots of BC Fishing to do!

We also recommend you read up on fly fishing, it can be a lot of fun.

Even in December and January fishing is good with comparatively warm weather and steady action for Winter-Springs.

No matter when you make it out, the West Coast provides excellent fishing all year round!
