Sumptuous breakfasts
"Thanks so much for our fabulous stay. Joe said he would never stay at a B&B. He was not staying in anyone's house and have them nosing in his things. None of his problems happened. Instead we stayed in a beautiful room, were served a sumptuous breakfast and over did. We will be back. "

Wonderful room
"Thank you so much for letting us stay in the wonderful room. The weather has been mostly kind to us and the views are amazing. I needed a ladder to climb into bed but once I got there - well, heaven. We will recommend you to our friends in the UK. "

Kept finding ourselves back here
"We had a wonderful, relaxing visit. Everything was great and we kept finding ourselves back here enjoying the surroundings instead of out sightseeing. Don't tell anyone but we never paid a dime to see any sights. It was too nice right here. Se you again. "

Wonderful hospitality
"Eleven months later and we had returned for more glorious Vancouver Island experiences, not the least of which is a stay at Birds of a Feather. This time we brought "the ducklings" with us (Mara from Boston, Miranda from Minneapolis, and Bryce a new UBC graduate- all our children) as well as sister Sally from Maryland. We told them how much we enjoyed our stay with you last summer and so everyone decide they'd appreciate a trip her themselves. Many many thanks for your wonderful hospitality. Your excellent directions and information added immensely to our experience also. "

Outstanding rooms and views
"Many thanks for a wonderful stay. We arrived early and sat on the bench watching the world go by - soon to see the Otter sleeping on his back drifting in the Lagoon, the Heron forever fishing, the Gull with a fresh Crab to eat, and the Eagle dipping into the water for his afternoon snack. We knew we had made a good choice to stay with you. Our first trip to Canada has been rewarding and left us with many memories. We will return during our travels and our discussions of places further afield has put Cuba and New Zealand back on our agenda. Your thoughtfulness and enthusiasm made our stay all the more enjoyable. The rooms and view- outstanding. "

Canoeing the Lagoon
"We have had a most enjoyable stay. Able to travel the southern Island experiencing many of Vancouver Islands' beautiful land marks. The trip to Port Renfrew, Sooke, Royal Roads not to mention Canoeing the Lagoon while watching the Swans, geese and Herons will be remembered as one of our best vacations. Our room's ambience was just as we hoped. "

Boundless views of wildlife forest and the sea and lagoon
"Splendid room with boundless views of wildlife, forest and the sea & lagoon. Wonderful starting point to breathtaking vistas like cycling through the forest, university, castle, fort and the lighthouse and to the west to Sooke on the Galloping Goose Trail. We had a full day to salt Spring Island exploring and enjoying every moment of beauty. The high point of the day was a superb dinner at the House of Piccolo. In the west we found the walks byond Renfrew wonderfully invigorating with ocean and forest trails. Lunch at the Hotel Renfrew was lovely in a delightful setting overlooking a cove. Dinner at the Fuse in Sooke was a wonderful taste of Canada's best. Extreme birding at its best. Endless kodak moments. Birds of a Feather captures the best of Vancouver Island. It's a gem and room #1 a 5 star. "

Perfect B&B experience
"What an incredible experience & stay! We stayed here for the 2nd half of our honeymoon, and although we only had two full days, we had such a great time! The room, view, and B&B experience was all perfect. This was our first B&B stay, and we vow to never go back to hotels! Thanks Dieter for all the wonderful breakfasts and conversations. Your whale watching suggestion was wonderful and we saw a pod of 8 to 10 orcas! If we ever get back to Victoria, we will know where to stay! Thanks again for your great hospitality. "

Amazing Spa Treatments
"We found this place on the internet as it was close to the Olympic View golf club and we had a family wedding there on Saturday. The reality of this B&B is a million times better than the internet makes out. We can recommend Wittys Lagoon trail, it is just up the road and has amzing waterfalls, woodland, ocean views and sand flats. Try the whale watching it's amazing. We saw sea lions, eagles, elephant seals and transient killer whales. Go on a Zodiac for an exhilarating experience ... wear warm clothes, its freezing! The rooms are so tidy and clean and the beds are amazing. We're going to base our new bathroom on the ones here. We will tell all our friends to come here its great. P.S. Make use of the Spa treatments - it is amazing. Ashley is a star. "

Well-equipped BandB
"Such a wonderful surprise to find such a comfortable, well-equipped B&B, welcoming us after a rainy drive through the woods. We saw deer beside the raod. The view is spectacular and breakfast delicious. I envy you swivelling about in your barber chair admiring the passing parade of bird life. Best of wishes in continuing to charm your guests in the future. "

Truly a "Bachelor's" Study Pad !
"In February of 2007, my colleague and I were excited to begin our undergraduate bachelor of commerce program at RRU; however, we were not too excited about the dorm life. As mature students, and both of us with families, we were accustomed to the comforts of home. Birds of a Feather provided us just such a place. A short drive to the campus, we could engage in classes during the day, and even come home for a quick lunch, and make it back in time to finish the day of classes. Afterwards we often retreated to the waterfront to reflect on the days activities. Very conducive to after-class studies, the peace and quiet of our room with panoramic views provided us the environment we needed. Of course, we were often caught up in the luxurious amenities of our room including the gas fireplace, large LCD TV, and DVD player, while sippin' on a cold brew. Keeping connected with your workplace and families is important for times like these, and our wireless internet connection made it simple for us to stay in touch. We've booked again for 2008 residency, and look forward to our stay at Bird of a Feather as a highlight of our trip. "

Short mountain bike trip from the campus
"I spent my first residency in RRU residence and my second at Birds of a Feather. It was a short mountain bike trip from the campus, 10 minutes to the library or a short cab ride on rainy days. It was wonderful balance to be close enough to participate in all the campus activities while having the luxury of high quality facilities and a peace and tranquil setting. Our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, they made the experience that much better! I would highly recommend the Birds of a Feather B&B to any RRU student. "
